View from frozen lake of pods at Whichaway Camp where I stayed. Located on the Schirmacher Oasis (coordinates 70’ 45’ 49’ S, 11’ 36 59 E) in the Schirmacher Hills in Queen Maud Land, camp was unique and otherworldly.

Located on the Schrimacher Oasis in Queen Maud Land, Whichaway Camp comprised six sleeping pods, three centralized pods, a shower pod, staff tents, and three guest tents. The tent in front was mine.

Inside my tent at Whichaway Camp. Glamping in the middle of Antarctica!

Whichaway Camp is on Shirmacher Oasis, located between the edge of the Antarctic Ice Shelf, and the Novolazarevskaya Nivi Ice Shelf. Behind camp was a frozen lake, then a giant ice fall, and then glaciers and ice as far as you could see, with Nunatak in the distance.
